Whistler Wedding Photographer | The Edgewater Lodge | Ellie & Kirk
There is a certain grace about Ellie that I just love. A down to earth girl (with style) who looks after her second love Macy, her beloved horse (I think Kirk made his way to the top by the time the wedding took place!) Our connection came with such ease. I remember meeting Ellie and Kirk over coffee and I think the actual wedding talk lasted about 5 minutes and then we surprised ourselves by how fast we started talking about life, love and all it’s beauty. I tell you I just love meeting couples, it always make me discover new things, new habits and great core values.
So we connected, we did one of my sexiest/romantic E-Session to date. From that moment on, I knew I was in for a treat for their wedding day. It was elegant, yet casual. Romantic with the proper dose of steam! And all of it surrounded by their closest friends and family at the ever so gorgeous Edgewater Lodge. Thank you Ellie & Kirk for making me a part of your wonderful celebration and for your kind friendship.

Whistler Commercial Photographer | Musician | Jeff Fry
A few months ago we gave you a teaser about Jeff in this previous post,
I was approach by a musician that was looking for a fresh look that he could feel proud of but still had a little edge. Meet Jeff Fry, local Squamish boy and proud to be. Jeff is freaking good, I mean really good. We talked a lot before planning the shoot. I truly wanted to feel and hear what he had in mind and bring my vision to compliment his ideas. One of his inspiration is is surrounding so it was imperative that we plan the shoot to be outdoor surrounded by what he calls home.
Count on the boy to be no different then most artist, he forgot to bring his guitar to the shoot! It’s ok, I often forgot to bring my skis to the hill on competition day in my previous life. It’s what we do. But once we got the guitar there and I told him to just do his thing, my shutter couldn’t stop, it was too sweet to interrupt.
A few days ago I get the call, he’s got it all finish! The cards, the posters, the promo but most of all the disk! I just put my hands on this sweet sweet piece of art and I am telling you it’s butter, you basically want Jeff to sing all those things to you…even thought I know that his muse is is long time love , I can still be a groupie.
So go check him out, Here and here and here.
Look at what I got yesterday fresh off the press, kind of cool!
Whistler Wedding Photographer | Top 10 E-Session moments
So what do you think when we say E-Session aka Engagement Session?
Well we think sexy, steamy, romantic, intimate, beautiful, unique, celebration and of course love. E-Sessions have come a long way from the stiff formal look that was required to send out an announcement. These days what I love about them is the perfect timing for an excuse to take a moment for yourself. In the planning and the real life fast pace, it,s a moment to pause, to just be and celebrate you! A chance to get comfy with the lens and to bring your own unique feel to the session.
Here are our top 10 from this past year;
#10 Keeping it fun, relax and playful where the smiles tell it all.

#9 Be part of the scenic beauty that surrounds us.

#8 A little Urban fun and a funky sign.

#7 After a while you forget I’m there and you just indulge in a quiet moment (Those are the best!)

#6 What can I say, a BW classic with Miss Macy (The Horse) feeling like she might be intruding.

#5 Bringing your own style and hobbies makes all the difference

#4 I did say steamy sexy love right?

#3 Bring in your personality with a little colour accent or a whole wall!

#2 Sunny afternoon, the wind blowing and a moment captured.

#1 Now nothing says sexy romantic more then a sunset, open barn and a warm blanket.

Which one is your favourite?

Vancouver Photographer | Photography Class | Part 2
The Feedback from our last “Stuck in Automatic Class” has been fantastic.
The light has been ignited for many and it is such a great feeling to be able to share this passion I have.
I know that all my ladies from our class are paying close attention to their metering system with a guaranteed smile as I so well referred to the metering system in our camera constantly searching for that perfect shade of grey! You guest it, completely opened up the trap for myself to fall right into while making all the ladies in the class turn bright red, myself included.
Never a dull moment in class even while talking about metering system…who knew!

Vancouver Photographer | Photography Class | Part 1
A powerful day!
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of teaching a photography class at the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver. The group could not have been more eclectic but all with a common goal: “ Make me fall back in love with my camera.”
Within the first 5 minutes of intro, I could sense we were in for a treat. I never saw people connecting so fast, everyone sharing a common passion that goes beyond words. I could see mini light bulbs going off every minute as I guided them through the journey. By the end of the day, we had moved from snapping pictures to creating fine art. It was empowering.
Stay tune for part 2, I’ll tell you how I got all the girls to blush talking about metering system and exposure (sexy, I know), yes only a french girl could get herself in that embarrassing situation.

Whistler Wedding Photographer | The Edgewater Lodge | Jessica & Greg
When Jessica and I met over coffee, instantly it was like old friends. I always find that in the first few minutes of an enquiry you get a good feeling or not. Well this one was instant. She knew what she wanted and what she was looking for was someone she could trust and deliver. “Bring it on” I said.
The intention for the Wedding day; “A beautiful celebration with a great party. We want to have fun” she said. And fun they did have! Check out their E-Session we did only a few days before.

Whistler Wedding Photographer | Brew Creek Centre | B&W
I’ve been setting my own limits.
Living in such a rich color environment full of snow peaks, glacial green water and blooms, I have forgotten to allow myself to say no to it all.
That’s right, you heard me.
How dare would I specifically decide to take the rich colors out of “The most beautiful place on Earth” without asking anyone? I remember in school when we use to pick the perfect roll of black and white film before heading out on assignment being so excited about what contrast, texture and odd looking things I would find in the street that would grab my attention and shake my little artist soul.
Feeling the need to reconnect with my first love of photography, I decided to do just that. While scouting new locations at the gorgeous full bloom and colorful Brew Creek Centre for an upcoming wedding, I went out and purposely decided to get lost with my camera, wanting to go deeper then just the pretty and capture a little bit of soul and energy at this gorgeous venue.

Whistler Wedding Photographer | Dana & Derek
Meet Dana & Derek, I had a great feeling while talking to them early on about their wedding plans for this coming October at Nicklaus North Golf Course. They said, we’re not photogenic and pretty shy.
This is why I love the E-Session.
They arrived with their individual security blanket;
Her: A succulent,
Him: Drum stick,
Me…inspired right away.
