Whistler Wedding Photography | E-Session | Hayley & David
Going on a little adventure with Hayley & David for their E-Session, I was prepared for anything. Well, I should of known when I suggested to Hayley that bringing props that they love to the session was a great idea that I would be in for a treat.
I think it is safe to say their personalities truly came out and I could not be more excited for their upcoming winter wedding in collaboration with Celebrate Events at the gorgeous Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre.
Whistler Wedding Photographer | Top 10 E-Session moments
So what do you think when we say E-Session aka Engagement Session?
Well we think sexy, steamy, romantic, intimate, beautiful, unique, celebration and of course love. E-Sessions have come a long way from the stiff formal look that was required to send out an announcement. These days what I love about them is the perfect timing for an excuse to take a moment for yourself. In the planning and the real life fast pace, it,s a moment to pause, to just be and celebrate you! A chance to get comfy with the lens and to bring your own unique feel to the session.
Here are our top 10 from this past year;
#10 Keeping it fun, relax and playful where the smiles tell it all.

#9 Be part of the scenic beauty that surrounds us.

#8 A little Urban fun and a funky sign.

#7 After a while you forget I’m there and you just indulge in a quiet moment (Those are the best!)

#6 What can I say, a BW classic with Miss Macy (The Horse) feeling like she might be intruding.

#5 Bringing your own style and hobbies makes all the difference

#4 I did say steamy sexy love right?

#3 Bring in your personality with a little colour accent or a whole wall!

#2 Sunny afternoon, the wind blowing and a moment captured.

#1 Now nothing says sexy romantic more then a sunset, open barn and a warm blanket.

Which one is your favourite?
Whistler Wedding Photographer | Dana & Derek
Meet Dana & Derek, I had a great feeling while talking to them early on about their wedding plans for this coming October at Nicklaus North Golf Course. They said, we’re not photogenic and pretty shy.
This is why I love the E-Session.
They arrived with their individual security blanket;
Her: A succulent,
Him: Drum stick,
Me…inspired right away.
Whistler Wedding Photographer | E-Session | Joanna & Dave
Mom’s. You can always count on them. No matter the task.
Joanna’s mom was no different. Joanna and Dave live in Australia and are being married in Whistler. Joanna’s mom, being local, was given the task to help with the planning and vendor decisions. Nothing quite like a mom’s devotion!
E-Sessions are always such a great way to know the couple and this session was no different. Their little girl Ella was such an important part of it….and well, kind of stole the show! Can’t wait to see how she steals the show on the big day!
Whistler Wedding Photographer | Engagement Shoot | Jessica & Greg
Jessica and Greg. What a true treat this engagement session was. They epitomize my belief that all things beautiful and inspirational are right in front of you. All you need to do is open your eyes and ‘see’.
When considering the location for their engagement shoot, they decided to keep it close to home, close to their hearts and close to their family. Yes, all three 4-pawed members that are adorably cute and super smart. Mix them in with a couple in love that are, shall we say, very comfortable with one another and it’s a beautiful thing.
Loved the day. Thanks Jessica & Greg!
Whistler Wedding Photographer | Breanne & David
This couple is lovely and sweet and fun. I just loved their style and so shooting their engagement session was right up my alley.
In Whistler, dogs rule. They’re allowed everywhere. Stores, banks, even restaurant patios. It’s difficult to walk past a store that doesn’t have a water bowl out front and some treats stashed behind the counter. So when their pup showed up for this shoot on this beautiful trail all brushed and gorgeous and ready to go, I couldn’t wait. After all, our dogs are usually our first child and this pup was a real important part of their growing family!
And of course a day in Whistler isn’t complete without a token bear!
Whistler Wedding Photography | Rainbow Park | Rebecca & Mike
This post will close off the chapter of Mike and Rebecca for now. It’s some photos from their engagement shoot earlier this year in Rainbow Park. It was a remarkable day, one of those Whistler classics. Warm, gorgeous and peaceful. We had the entire park to ourselves, not a soul in sight … and so their story goes something like this …
Wedding Photography | Ellie & Kirk | Vancouver Engagement Session
Ahh, love sweet love. Sometimes paths are meant to cross and I feel mine was meant to cross with Ellie and Kirk. Don’t get me wrong, I love and get along beautifully with all my clients but the three of us, plus Macy the horse, got along famously right from the first moment.
With Ellie’s passion for Macy, Kirk knows he needs to share her affections. I guess it’s like a dog is your first child, Macy is theirs. When discussing where their engagement shoot would be there was no doubt it had to be at Macy’s stable.
The weather was on and off all day but we went for it and as the sun started to set, a light mist hung in the air. It made for a beautiful, and at times, steamy engagement shoot.
Thank you Kirk and Ellie for letting me in. I loved every moment!
Bath time for Macy; even she had to get ready for the shoot. Although apparently she doesn’t like being clean so took a quick roll in the dust to get things back to normal.
