Whistler Wedding Photographer | Top 10 E-Session moments

So what do you think when we say E-Session aka Engagement Session?

Well we think sexy, steamy, romantic, intimate, beautiful, unique, celebration and of course love.  E-Sessions have come a long way from the stiff formal look that was required to send out an announcement.  These days what I love about them is the perfect timing for an excuse to take a moment for yourself.  In the planning and the real life fast pace, it,s a moment to pause, to just be and celebrate you!  A chance to get comfy with the lens and to bring your own unique feel to the session.

Here are our top 10 from this past year;

#10  Keeping it fun, relax and playful where the smiles tell it all.

Squamish Family Photographer | Pretty in Pink

I have known Julie and Ryan for a few years starting with their gorgeous wedding at The Edgewater Lodge.  A few years went by and Zola came along.  We always kept in touch and a few weeks ago, we all decided it was time to claim the last few weeks as a family of three before they become a family of four.

It was the perfect setting to celebrate Zola as a big girl, ready to be a big sister and sexy mama Julie sporting her gorgeous perfect belly.

I had a friend of mine the other day ask me:” How do you customize each session to look so different given similar family situation?”

It’s funny as I actually never really see similarities between my families even with the similar dynamics, looking back at Julie, Ryan and Zola’s session it occurred to me that they were in the same boat as an other family that I photographed a few months ago that I love Jodi,Todd and Charli both waiting for the new baby yet two different stories, take a look at The Carter Family + One Session and you be the judge as to how each family is completely different and deserve a unique look that is just right for them.

Squamish Family Photographer | A simple moment

We all have our little special moments with our families.  One of mine was a few months ago.  A gorgeous plant was given to me by my parents.  The moment my daughter saw it she made up her mind that it was her soother plant.

Let me explain…running out of ideas to convince her to stop using the pacifier, I made up a story involving a special plant, giving the soothers to new babies and being a big girl.  This is how the story unfolded for her to move into being a big girl.

Every day is filled with special moments, we just need to make sure we pay attention to them.

Whistler Family Photographer | The Carter’s + One

Jodi and Todd were married at The Edgewater a few years back. Being a part of their wedding was special to me because they stole my heart with their kindness. Now 2 short years later, there’s a little girl Charli and big belly and an invite to capture their life before the big day. Well, give me a gorgeous little girl and a big belly anytime and we shall have fun.

Squamish Family Photographer | Boys will be Boys

I loved photographing these boys and here’s why.

The bond that grows between two brothers from the start is untouchable. Even before one can walk or talk they find their own way to connect and communicate and these two little boys are no different. Coming from a girl dominated household, I loved this time to catch a glimpse at the tough and tumble that comes with a couple of boys. I can only imagine what mommy is going to have her hands full with in a few years time.

Squamish Family Photographer

Family photography usually defaults to thinking about babies and toddlers and the wonderful first years of life when precious milestone’s are being reached; birthday’s or learning to crawl and walk. When Marine called asking if I could photograph herself, her brother and parents for a special gift to her mom I couldn’t be more excited. As I always say, it’s the moments in every day life that become the most special and God only knows, those ,moments are only just beginning at age one or two.

So meet beautiful Marine, her brother and parents.

Whistler Wedding Photographer | Whistler Mountain | Miwah & Jonathan

It was an early morning and it was a perfect one. Preparing to be at the top of the mountain at 8:15am takes dedication for some who are just going up for a day of skiing. For Miwah, it was the time to be awake, ready and waiting to meet her groom at the end of the aisle outside Mountain top. Stay tuned for the next post that includes Miwah’s words on their love story and her wise words to future brides.

Squamish Family Photographer | Jack & Sean

Meet the McLeod’s. These boys are priceless and so sweet. We spent some time brainstorming where the perfect place would be for this photo shoot and in the end decided to start at their home and see where this adventure brought us. And well … we stayed. There is no better place than home sweet home. The boys were happy and relaxed which meant their parents were happy and relaxed! I guess I don’t need to tell you how it made me feel.

Yes, you guessed it … very happy indeed.
