When I first saw the gorgeous setting of Executive Suites Squamish a few years back, I thought to myself that it would be the most stunning location to host a wedding. The backdrop of the close mountains and the wall of the Chief is awe-inspiring. Fast forward to now and one of my all time favourite couples. A term I don’t toss out lightly, by the way!
Meet Maja and Phil, city bound because of their devotion to save lives as ER doctors and long time lovers of the Squamish climbing. They wanted a Squamish location that served up an elegant setting with all amenities on site and excellent service while paying homage to their love of the outdoors and climbing. The Executive Suites perfectly fit the bill. The way the venue is laid out, they had complete privacy never seeing another guest. It made the celebration feel so cozy, almost like they had the whole place to themselves. They booked their date and the planning for their wedding began.
Their guests flew in from all over the world including close family that they don’t get to see nearly enough. So Maja and Phil opted for a first look so they could spend as much time as possible visiting during the reception with those they don’t get to see very often.
This was a very special bonus for Maja. She had booked the beautiful Bridal Suite and had her makeup done outside overlooking the location of where her ceremony would take place.
This was probably one of my most unforgettable times with a couple. We went for a walk on the golf course, Maja was barefoot. It was so relaxing and romantic. The air was still, you couldn’t hear any noise, just utter peacefulness. And they were surrounded by mountains that they have been climbing for years.
