It always amazes me when couples of mine from years before call me up asking me to capture their family photography.
Meet Caroline & Curtis, an amazing couple that had a small intimate wedding a few years back surrounded by their parents. Caroline was a few weeks along in her first pregnancy so it was a double treat for me to capture their union but also her growing belly in a very rustic, down to earth Whistler style feel during a snow storm nonetheless.
Fast forward a few years to this past summer, they found themselves having to leave everything behind, their home, their possession to the Fires of Fort McMurray. Having been fortunate to be able to relocate close to family outside of Vancouver, they amazed me with their spirit and their ability to look forward. And so without missing a beat, they wanted to highlight this fresh start…and their little one 1st birthday with their first Family Photography Session.
To say I was honoured would be an understatement. I was, from the start immersed in this family’s love and mindfulness of being in the moment with their beautiful two boys. We were aiming for natural, candid images with a hint of style with a few props to highlight the birthday boy and I think it could of not suited them better.
I feel so priviledged to have been asked to capture a day in the life of this gorgeous family, what a treat, what a walk in the forest.
